This Privacy Policy explains how AIS GAMES ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the mobile application Float Up (the "App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Contact email: hello@ais.games
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Float Up mobile application distributed through the Google Play Store (and the Apple App Store, where available), and to the same game played in a web browser at ais.games (the "web version"). It does not apply to any third-party services, websites, or applications that may be linked from within the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
The App does not require account creation and does not ask you to provide personal information directly. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or payment details.
2.2 Information stored on your device
The App stores gameplay-related data locally on your device, in the App's own local storage (the web storage of the App's built-in browser view). This includes:
- Level progress, level layouts, retry counts and best depths, skill tree upgrades, gems collected, best combo and endless-mode best score
- Game settings (sound effects and music volume, vibration on/off, language, HUD size, reminders on/off, whether you have seen the tutorial)
- Timestamps of the last advertisements shown, used only to limit how often ads appear
This data is not transmitted to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its storage through your device settings; "Reset Progress" in the App's settings erases your game progress.
2.2.1 Cloud Backup
The "Cloud Backup" option in the App's settings, which also runs automatically when a dive changes your progress and when the App goes to the background, saves a copy of your game progress (not your settings) in the App's preferences storage on your device (Capacitor Preferences), so that "Restore" can bring it back. The App does not send this copy to us or to any server of ours; we do not operate servers that store user data. If you have turned on your device's own backup (Android Backup to your Google account, or iCloud Backup on iOS), the operating system may include the App's data, including this copy, in that backup and restore it when you reinstall the App. That backup is made and stored by Google or Apple under your account with them, and we have no access to it.
2.2.2 Vibration
The App can make your device vibrate for short feedback during play (for example, on hits or when you surface), and so can the web version where the browser supports it. This uses the device's vibration hardware only; no data is collected or sent. You can turn vibration off at any time in Settings or in the pause menu.
2.2.3 Play reminders
If you allow notifications, the App schedules a few "come back and play" reminders on your device (1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 days after you last played; opening the App resets them). They are created and shown entirely by your device's operating system; no data is sent to us or to any server to do this. You can turn reminders off at any time in the App's Settings, or block the App's notifications in your device settings. The web version sends no reminders.
2.3 Information collected automatically by third parties
In the mobile app, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob automatically collects certain information for the purpose of serving and measuring ads:
- Advertising identifier — Google Advertising ID (GAID) on Android, Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS
- Device information — device model, operating system and version, language, screen size
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address (country and city level; no precise GPS data is accessed)
- Ad interaction data — which ads were shown, whether you watched a rewarded ad to completion, whether you clicked
2.4 Playing in a web browser
The web version at ais.games shows no advertisements and does not load Google AdMob, and it has no Cloud Backup option. Your progress and settings are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device (a copy of your progress may also be kept there as a backup) and are not sent to us. They stay until you clear your browser's site data for ais.games, which also erases your progress. Like any website, the server that delivers the game files receives the technical information your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address and browser type.
3. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- To provide the App — saving your progress locally so you can resume gameplay
- To show advertisements — serving relevant ads through Google AdMob and managing the frequency of ads shown to you
- To offer optional rewarded advertisements — allowing you to watch an ad voluntarily in exchange for an in-game benefit (e.g., continuing after a failed attempt)
- To remind you to play — only if you allow notifications, as described in section 2.2.3
- To improve the App — using aggregated, non-identifying metrics from AdMob to understand general usage patterns
4. Legal Basis (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal basis for processing personal data through advertising partners is:
- Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) — for personalized advertising. You will be shown a consent request on first launch through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You may accept or decline, and change your choice later as described in section 6.2.
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — for non-personalized advertising, fraud prevention, and basic analytics necessary to run the App.
5. Advertising and Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party service to monetize the App. You are encouraged to review their privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited) — privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob-specific details at support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
AdMob may share data with its network of demand partners (advertisers and ad exchanges) to deliver ads. When you consent to personalized advertising, these partners may process your advertising identifier and device information to select relevant ads.
6. Your Choices and Controls
6.1 Reset or disable your advertising identifier
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Reset advertising ID"
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track", or Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → disable "Personalized Ads"
6.2 Update your consent
You can change your advertising consent choices at any time. For EU/UK/Swiss users, the consent form will re-appear when required by regulation. The App does not currently have a separate button to reopen the consent form; to show it again, clear the App's storage (Android: Settings → Apps → Float Up → Storage → Clear storage), which also erases your local game progress, or contact us and we will help.
6.3 Uninstall the App
Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored game data and cancels any scheduled reminders. No trace of your progress remains on our side because we do not operate servers that store user data. If your device's own backup is turned on, a copy of the App's data may remain in that backup (see section 2.2.1) until you delete it there. In the web version, clearing your browser's site data for ais.games has the same effect.
7. Rights of EU / UK / Swiss Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — request confirmation of whether we process your personal data
- Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@ais.games. Because we do not collect direct identifiers, you may need to provide information that helps us identify the data you are asking about (such as an approximate date of install or your advertising identifier).
8. Rights of California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA:
- Right to know what categories of personal information we collect and how it is used
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. While we do not sell data in the traditional sense, the sharing of advertising identifiers with AdMob's partners for personalized advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under the CPRA. You may opt out through the in-app consent form, where the App shows one, or by contacting us.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights
9. Rights of Other U.S. State Residents
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws have similar rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising. Contact us to exercise these rights.
10. Children's Privacy
Float Up is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at hello@ais.games and we will promptly delete the relevant data. AdMob is configured with an age-appropriate content rating; only ads rated T (Teen) or below are shown.
11. International Data Transfers
Google AdMob processes data on servers located in the United States and other countries. Where required, Google relies on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission to transfer personal data outside the EEA.
12. Data Retention
We do not retain personal data on any server. Game progress stored on your device (or in your browser, for the web version) remains until you delete it; a copy in your device's own Google or Apple backup follows that service's retention. Data processed by AdMob is retained according to Google's own retention policies — see Google's privacy documentation for details.
13. Data Security
Game data stored locally on your device is protected by the security mechanisms of your operating system (sandboxing, per-app storage isolation). Data sent to AdMob is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted at the same URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced within the App where practicable. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
15. Contact Us
